Colonialism & Climate Change -- Race, Nationalism, and Immigration

This program complements Sociology curriculum by exploring how people relate to one another in light of our cultural differences and national boundaries. By comparing and contrasting the issues, challenges and solutions between participants’ home communities and countries versus those of Amsterdam (NL), we see the same problems exist all over the world but, manifest themselves in different ways.

We dive into the concepts of nationalism as it pertains to xenophobia; race and white supremacy; and, how cultural pride can sustain or destroy societies.
